Jason Reminisces

The Earth has whipped around the Sun thirty-three times since I clawed my way from a place that is far too horrifying for me to put into words. In that time, things have changed quite a bit. I’ve finally reached the point in my life where I can look down my nose at younger people and say, “In MY day, things were different!” I’ve longed to be able ( Read more... )

You do realize at present you can find most Alice Cooper albums in the "Wheelchair Rock" section of Sam Goody, right?

Man, how times have changed. I remember singing "I'm 18" on my 18th birthday. Cooper was a geezer even then. Now I'm a geezer. And you! You're.... like borderline historic.

At least Alice gives me hope that I can still kick ass at a decrepit age.

Whoah! $645.75 by today's dollars, if this site be any judge.

I think I remember actually beating E.T. for the 2600. My neighbors had one, and I would have sold my grandma into slavery just to play a few rounds of PitFall II.

Nothing beats 8-bit NES, circa 1991. Old school, all the way. I freaking punished at all things Castlevania-related.

Oi! If you're old, I'm well on my way. Depressing, but clearly true, as I didn't miss any of your references. :(

I was at Cape Canaveral recently, and they have plans to roll out new moon rockets in 2010, so that will come full circle as well.

Our sole sources of anime were Speed Racer and War BATTLE of the Planets.

I always liked G-2 Jason because, well, he had an awesome name. And was always dark and mysterious and brooding.

I have all the episodes of Gatchaman (Japanese original - that's where "Asakura Joe" comes from, BTW), but they are rather badly subtitled. If your senior citizen bus ever drags you, your iron lung, and your portable dialysis machine down to see me, I might even burn you a copy. (It's like 12 DVDs or so)

Gatchaman is so much cooler! The little guy doesn't beep and whistle like a retard! Instead he swears a lot and doesn't act all annoying! Also, no 7-Zark-7! You'd be amazed at how much coolness got left on the cutting room floor when it came across the ocean to the ol' U.S. of A.

I think you're getting senile in your old age brane_damaj November 7 2006, 02:28:14 UTC
The last time I visited you you showed us the Gatchaman DVD. I remember it well. No stupid robot narrating the vast gaps they ripped into the original story and "shit" in the subtitles. Yep, I remember that.
