Hey all.
Been a while. Just thought I'd let y'all know what's been going on.
Hell, I'm not even sure who reads this any more - if you don't mind, please drop me a quick comment letting me know that you read this (or at least skimmed); I'd be interested to know. :)

Even as a Vibe owner myself... seriously, if I was sinking $4,000 - $6,000 in repairs into a vehicle (and I'm thankfully not at that point yet) I'd be saying "To hell with this!" and buying a new one. Like you said, if your repair bill is bigger than the new car payments would be, that's probably the time to just let it go. :)
I've probably gotten similar mileage as you, really -- but I think that's primarily attributable to body shape.
As for new vehicles -- I have a feeling it's a bit smaller than what you're going for, but I've in one of the new Honda Fits, and they're actually pretty decent. (I didn't like them three years ago -- but they've definitely improved.)
Of course, you could always go with a Toyota Matrix (aka the Vibe's cousin...) -- if I'm not mistaken Toyota has a sale going on right now...

Interesting possibility, thanks for the idea!

As for farm vehicle advice, I honestly have no idea what would be ideal here for you =\ I know alot of cars, but they're typically of the "reasonable around town car" or the "sporty and fun!" varieties. *g*
