Thanks for commenting! I would have been evil if I had kill Kirsten, wouldn't I? It's hard for him to loose his mother, because as crappy as she is, she's his mom and he loves him. But, I didn't want to make her reappear and upset him another times, so I choose to kill her. It's cruel, but it's also going to allow the Cohens to adopt Ryan and to show him (again, and again, but the child needs that!) how much they love him and are going to be there for him.
For Crying and Screaming! Little Ryan!, it's the first of five stages (by the way, the 5 stages in the 4th season with Summer were brilliant!).
And it's going to be better for Ryan in the next chapters!

I love your Kirsten. Poor Ryan, so fiercely loyal to Dawn. I love this story so much. Hugs

Thanks for commenting! The lack of Kirsten and Ryan's interaction always frustrated me, so I wanted to show a special bond between them! And as he's only five, I guess it's easier for her to show how much she loves him. It's less awkward than with a 15 years old!

That bothered me too. Your Ryan is so lovable so she would really have to be an ice-queen not to love him. He is so adorable with his dads wife-beater Hugs

so many wonderful things going on in this chapter that I don't even know where to begin; you just totally threw me off with that last scene. just when Ryan was starting to accept the Cohens this happens; hopefully this won't set his recovery back too far. eagerly awaiting your next post

I saved this chapter before I went on vacation and am only just getting to it now. It was well worth the wait.

"Kirsten?”
“Yes, honey.”
“I love you.” ....I...I must have something in my eye....tears? No, of course not!

“I see the problem. Kirsten wanted you to eat her Jell-O, didn’t she? I tell you what, kid. I love that woman, but how she can burn water is beyond me. ...Hee!

I was wondering when you'd get to ice cream! That was my first thought for soothing the throat, and Kirsten wouldn't have to cook it.

Dr. Mark Greene, huh? *snickers*

Ryan started kicking and screaming with all of his might.
“No. Let me go. Put me down. You don’t know what you’re talking about. She’s not dead. You’re lying. I hate you! ”...and you end with the opposite emotion from where you began. Very clever. But when you said last chapter that you needed the mumps/vaccine situation to bring Dawn back, I sort of imagined she'd be alive when you did it!

Loved all the Cohen+1 time here. Your chapters get better and better each time.

I love this story. I was thinking about it the other day so I came and reread it. It's just so sweet and so different than most of the fic out there. The family dynamics and Sandy and Kirsten come alive, making me suspend belief and see Ryan and Seth as very young children.

Looking forward to an update.

:o)
