It will be alright. Hearing loss is not the end of the world. Look on the bright side of things. He still has some hearing capabilities and they caught it early. If nothing else it means he and you get to learn a whole new language together. I learned sign for my mom when she started having hearing loss ten years ago. Now we enjoy private conversations in a room full of people ^_^ Nothing is more bonding then over coming something together ^_^
I don't mean for that to come off as callous just to be clear. I meant it to be uplifting. I hope you didn't take it otherwise. When I started to lose my vision I was devastated. But I had family telling me things could be so much worse, and that it was caught early on. I have gone through six surgeries to save my sight. each one more depressing then the last. But I had my mom tell me "hey it could be worse, you could have a life threatening disease with no cure. Instead you have something they can help you with to where you can live a normal life." And she was right. So please don't think I'm being mean. I really meant 'it's not the end of the world' in a positive uplifting tone. my prayers are with you
