Who knew that reporting on a familiar subject would be so difficult? I went to a Bio-medical seminar last week and although I knew absolutely nothing about the subject, I was able to write the paper in about 2-3 hours. Tonight, I went to a seminar about freedom of press (a journalism seminar), and I am having the most difficulty writing it. I think ( Read more... )

see, I don't agree with that. He was on the ground when they tased him. He wasn't running, and 20 seconds before they tased him he said "just let me go and I will walk right out of here"...I don't like his personality...he seems obnoxious, but I don't agree with the tasing.

you must have not seen all the videos or heard from people that went there because they warned him that they were going to tase him. and what can you expect after what happened at virginia tech? the cops shouldnt be punished for their actions in this case. and trust me, i hate cops just as much as everyone else but i agree with them right now.

I didn't say the cops should be punished. I hate cops too...but I don't think they should be punished, because no serious injury was caused as a result of their actions. I just think they should have made a better decision. And you can't compare this situation to Va Tech...Meyers didn't have any weapon...he was only trying to voice his opinion (although in a not-so-democratic way)

where you there?? that seems like a thing you would go to.
anywho...
i saw it on the news, that kid was extremely annoying but i dont think he should have been tased at all. there were enough cops there to handcuff him and take him outside, instead of shooting him. i think it was rediculious

No, I wasn't there....I really really wanted to go, but I had a class :( But yeah...I think there were enough cops to handle the situation without tasing him as well. The UPD cops (university police department) aren't allowed to carry real guns...what would have happened had they had real guns?
