As a former mixtape junky/purist, I am almost ashamed to say that I've been enjoying the magic of the mix-cd. I'm now working on themed play lists and I'm currently working on "Cities". I'm trying to stay away from the obvious and from songs about New York, LA, and Chicago. There are just too many ( Read more... )

I've been trying to avoid too many blues and rap songs because that would be too easy but still gonna sprinkle in a few.

I thought about "Lights" but then I decided to only use songs that mention the city by name.

and yes, Welcome to Miami is getting downloaded pronto.

If you're still looking for international songs, also try "Kathmandu" by Bob Seger.

Also, I can't recommend "Where the Rio De Rosa Flows" enough, if you can find it. One of my favorite rockabilly songs ever. Carl Perkins just kind of loses his shit at some point.
