Updates and UCSD

Got a letter from UCSD saying I got in. That surprised me a bit, but it was nice. Irvine is still my plan. I should go check out the campus one of these days before sending in my SIR. It's really exciting to have the next step in life come through ( Read more... )

Hey congratulations on getting into UCSD. That's a pretty hard school to get into. When do you hear from Irvine?

Don't worry too much about the money. Just apply for Financial aid and just live in debt. We all do it. It works.

Thanks! I got into UCI as well. Apparently UCSC is the hardest school to get into though. Congrats to you too, I think. If I'm reading things right, you got into a doc program, right? That's pretty awesome =)

I second Leticia.

Have you been to UCI? Irvine is blah in my opinion. Hot, suburbia that never ends. SD still has lots to discover despite being here as long as I have. Highly reccomended!

I should check out both campuses for sure. I don't have to decide until the end of May. The benefits here are my job, friends, and GF that I like, though I do have a tendency to shine when I start anew. I'm headed down to you on Saturday for the zoo. Maybe I can find a way to check the campus out then.

All pluses for UCI. But I thought you were in Huntington? Perhaps where to go to college shouldn't be based on the life you have but the life you want to have. Right next to the education you may get (although I've found it doesn't matter where you are in that regard, only how you approach it). When my boyfriend was in the states he had weekends off and would drive 2.5 hours each way every weekend to come see me. We made it work just fine and it actually gave me a good amount of time to focus on school during the week days. I was on top of things because I wasn't waiting for the weekend to do them because I had better ways to spend my time. It worked for us. It's not for everyone.

All said, congratulations on getting into both! It's good to hear you happy with the life you have now and I do hope that you are content with whatever decision you make. Good luck!!

Have fun at the zoo! There's some construction going on but most everything is accessible. Just plan extra time for walking.

Thanks! =) I like that line about where I go to for my future not being based on my present.
