I'm a member of a multi-fandom drabble community (day_by_drabble)that has a new fest starting soon. As the Mods have asked people to get the word out, would it be ok to post a pimp here?

Hey, I'm the Production Manager of this Who fan audio project, and we just opened up main cast auditions, and are still open for production team members. Would it be alright if I advertised here? I know there are a lot of Big Finish fans around these parts...

Would it be possible to set up a quick and dirty custom comments page for the community so we don't have to use the ugly new S1?

Also, in order for it to actually work you'll have to go into layout settings and enable custom comment pages, since LJ decided to flip a switch and make disabling them the default setting for everyone.

I tried switching to a custom comment page earlier and it really wasn't looking any better. It avoided the new terrible format, yes, but it still has all the old issues with long threads and it displays very small with our current theme.

I'm going to wait and see what LJ does to deal with this. If after Christmas they're still not rolling it back/actually improving it, we'll go in and mess around with the theme to see if we can find something that's less of a pain to use/see.

In the meantime, If you know of some custom css that'd implement a better comment section, please do let me know and I'll try it out right away.

...and if it REALLY comes down to it, there is a brb_g account on Dreamwidth. But I'd rather not force that move if we can get things to work here.

Well, thanks for trying. If you want to mess with it more, you might try what Memebells has done. That'd change the entire layout and screw up displaying the comm's banner, though. :(

I'm in the process of setting up RP accounts on DW. Even if I don't leave LJ, I'm going to start cultivating a presence on DW. Is the DW brb_g active at all, or a just in case thing that's just waiting for us?

It'd be hard for it to be active, since I just created it yesterday. XD (It's here, though.) I have a copy of my journal over on DW, and a copy of an RP account, but they're both just in case things so far.

I like the look of that from Memebells. I'll talk with the other mods and see what they think about a temporary change.
