On today's coding triumph, I had dinner with theatresmiles and her boyfriend and her sister. I was talking with the boyfriend about database triggers and he offered to help me with my INSERT problem. The MERGE trigger worked fine, even though there are inserts involved with a MERGE

I can't tell you how many times a perfectly good piece of software has been ruined by letting users get near it.

IIRC, aren't NULLs normally just contagious? NULL + anything == NULL, and so forth?
