I'm going to the University of Houston now. I got a small scholarship too out of nowhere, which was definitely a nice surprise. I haven't really made any friends at school. I'm pretty anti-social. I just listen to everyone around me talk and I just judge them a lot. I know, it's not nice...but I don't know...I can't help but hear their stupid

Ah! Bosch! That guy was fascinating. The details in his paintings are ridiculous and the couple of times I've gotten to his work (or the other painters that directly followed him) in person, it's something I can stare at for a good long while. Definitely a lot of parallels with Dali, especially in the languages they both made out of symbolism. The fact that we're still trying to crack all of Bosch's imagery is one of the reasons I think he's so interesting.

My introduction to Bosch was this weird kid's book called Pish, Posh, Said Hieronymus Bosch that was done (kind of) in his style. It was an odd choice for a children's book but a lot less terrifying than his actual paintings.

Yes! The details are insane...every person/creature is doing something weird and different.
hahah this is an actual book? Maaaan what are the illustrations like on the inside? Yeh I probably wouldn't show children the garden of earthly delights....it freaks me out so I can only imagine.

It's more wacky creatures vs. horrible hell beasts but it's a gateway drug. It made me curious so my mom ended up showing me art books of the actual stuff and it's all been downhill from there. I can't have been the only one.

yeh but she told me she goes to UH downtown :( I go to the main campus....I WISH she went to the campus I go to because I seriously have no one to talk to during my breaks....soooo boring.
