If you have not seen this movie yet, SEE IT NOW. It was the 2006 Palme d'Or winner at Cannes but since then, it hasn't garnered as much attention as it deserves. Cillian Murphy is a) really really hot and b) actually speaks in his native accent.

I remember seeing Perrier's Bounty a while ago but I can't remember much about it now. Need to re-watch.

I love Brendan Gleeson and Jodie Whitaker, who are both in the movie too, so I've been anxious to see it. Just haven't had the time.

I've never seen THE WIND THAT SHAKES THE BARLEY. *runs online to place this DVD on hold at the library* Mr. Murphy looks strikingly handsome against the green/gray background colors inside the film stills in your picspam. Lovely picspam! :D

Haha, true. This movie's color tones really compliment him. I think he was at his hottest in this and Edge of Love. He really works the period drama costumes.

*runs online to place EDGE OF LOVE on hold at the library* Looks like I'm going to be treating myself to a movie-watching marathon of Cillian Murphy's movies next week!

AUGH, this movie. So good, so good - but also totally made me want to kill myself. God, it's so depressing.

IKR? I totally cried. The whole brother relationship was just heartbreaking.

God, completely. It probably doesn't help that I'm such a sucker for tragic brother stories.

I own this movie on dvd, but still haven't managed to get further than half an hour in. I love war movies, but this was much more... intimate, I suppose, than regular Hollywood war flicks. it hurt to watch these young men, especially when people started pulling fingernails out... I'll have to try again soon, tho. ;A;

It is rather gritty and I think what makes it really affecting is how personal it is. It's not just like random masses getting killed.
