War of the Worlds

I am not one for reviewing movies, but War of the Worlds is incredible. I can honestly say that I have nothing bad to say about this movie. Even if you are not a fan of Sci-Fi movies you should go see it because of the special effects.

My roommate said he liked it.

I had my doubts about Cruise being in it though. Still sorta do. He seems so... out of place... compared to the original.

BUT I hear they use the original lazer beam sound effects still!

He did a good job. One of the things I liked about it the most was that no one, including Cruise was a calm and collected hero. There was a huge sense of panic and intensity.

but then... there's that whole Tom Cruise is a scientologist who KNOWS that there is "no such thing as a chemical imbalance" and that psychiatry is... well it's stupid, essentially [according to tom]. and no matter how I try to look past what he said, I don't think that the movie would be the same. I've been trying to decide if my sentiment is juvenile- and I think it might be... but nevertheless, he's insulted my chosen field, so... I think he's... dumb.

Just don't go into thinking about Herr Cruise or his beliefs.

The movie was great but I thought the ending was somewhat of a cop out. Tom blows up one of the tripods with a few grenades. The rest are destroyed becuase of a few bacteria.

Just because they're alines doesn't mean they can't be killed by grenades.
And a few bactaria have kille billions of humans so why not some aliens.
