THIS IS NOT A MEME

Feb 19, 2008 22:09

I'm just a little interested (okay, more than just a little):

What do you do to pick yourself up when you get in a funk, the sads, depression, a case of the blues, or whatever else you might refer to it as?

I could do with some suggestions right now...

Sometimes it is pretty tough, and I know that plenty of others have it tougher than me.

I think it's an American saying: You're good people.

And whether it is or not, you are.

I used to write to make it better. And read a lot. (can we say escapism?) And sometimes just one good long ranty bitch session with a good friend who won't repeat it is a good thing. Mostly, I just needed to get it out of my head so I could hear what the problem really was, because sometimes what I hear in my head and what I say don't sound the same, if that makes some sense.

I love you sweetie, and I am thinking good things for you.

Yes, escapism is often a great way to cope. Sometimes it is a little harder to escape than others, but looking for that escape and getting it probably makes it all the more satisfying.

I pick up the phone and call someone. I read my LJ to send out hugs to those who may want one or need one...(hug) I clean off a table in my studio. Or I'll take a book outside and read (I can do that since I live in Arizona).

All good suggestions. Thank you mate. Appreciated.

And the hug is too.

I visited Arizona in 2000 and so loved it. I wish I could come back. And I drove through, and stayed in, Tucson a couple of nights also (I hope I got it right that that is where you are???).

My geography might be a little out, but I stayed on, I think it was the west side of town. We were right in the shadows of the big row of cliffs. Is that the west? Something is nagging me that the sun may have set behind them...

You know, for someone so young, you often have an awful lot of good wisdom to share.

I think you can stay as my friend.

*still smiling bigly*

I think that's part of what's wrong with most jobs. You can't take a bubble bath OR a nap! When I'm Queen of the Universe I'll see to it that every place of employment provides these basic amenities.

Me for Queen!

You've been a Queen to me for a long time now.
