 Ok, so I have this commission for a late 15c coat, for a middle class craftsman.  This person is right now wearing early period clothing and I've always ribbed him for being a laurel making mostly late period wares and wearing early period garb.  So now he wants to try a later period garment (NO BUTTONS lol).  I convinced him to try the first one ( Read more... )

This place looks pretty good: I know people who ahve ordered from there, but I haven't seen the fabric myself. It's all $8 a yard, I think.

I am disenchancted with fabric_store.com- their linen tends to be a loose weave and looks... well like cheesecloth sometimes.

You want fabrics-store.com for your linen the L19 weight is the standard and nice medium weight. Also sign up for their mailing list via email they send out one or two sale emails a month. And use the code (ilovelinen) no parentheses in the discount for 7% off. This stuff is great, washes wonderfully and has many of the colors you are looking for. They also have samples they will send you. I strongly suggest them.

Fabric Store.com is what I use too. I've never had a issue with their linen.
