Injury - calf
I was running on Friday and aboout 13 minutes into the run on flat paved surface with the temp. at about 78 degrees. I feel the left calf start to get tight. It's not a sharp pain, so I walk a bit and do some stretching. I want run for about 30-40 minutes (I'm getting back into it and am losing weight)so I change my gate to compensate, doing more ( Read more... ) -

It's been awhile since I posted and it's time my friends and lurkers got an update. We made it through soccer season, my oldest son scoring over 1/2 his teams goals. They are having issues at that age with whether they scored and not so much about the outcomew of the game. Long time no post !
I look at my friends page almost everyday. I see what people are up to and comment/give advice when I can or see fit. Mainly to runners, as I have had some experience and try to keep up on the latest info/trends. I see that it has been awhile since I posted. Weather is invigorating
I went out for a 5 mile loop I have from work yesterday. It was in the low 60's at 4:00 in the afternoon. The season could be summed up by the sun setting rapidly in the west. It's freakin' 4:30-5:00 and the sun has set. And the days are to get shorter yet ! Well, the prediction for this weekend is high temp.'s in the low 30's. I'll be busy indoors ( Read more... ) -

It was that morning and not too long after the first plane had hit the World Trade Center that word had gotten around the office. The fitness center is just down the hall and has 4 televisions tuned to CNN for those using the equipment at the time. Word spreads. Did 3.5 miles on the track today and about .75 on grass. I took the boys to do some conditioning for Fall sports (soccer, specifically).I'm not blazing with speed by any means but I want to get these guys to push a little harder. Phone on the run
Yeah. I was out there. OUTside for a run. And I don't care how well I ran, what my time was, the mileage....any of that. Just to be outside and running in the air and sun. Baby, it's hot out there.......
Hokie smokes, Bullwinkle, it's been HOOOOOOTTTTTTTTTTTT. I guess we don't have to shovel it ! But it rained here most of the day on Friday and about 3:00 pm, the sun started to break through.
