I'm looking out the window at cloudy, sunset skies, an occasional lightening bolt shoots across the horizon and the rumble of thunder that follows reminds me that mother nature has her own agenda.  Once a storm forms there's no way to stop it, you just have to watch it take it's coarse, and hope that it's desruction doesn't harm anything on the way ( Read more... )

Well here we all are in the midst of a very scary, and fast approaching flu season!  There are 4 main influenza type A virus subtypes that have been isolated in pigs:  H1N1, H1N2, H3N2, and H3N1.  However, most of the "recently" isolated influenza viruses from pigs have been H1N1 viruses.  But ALL have the capability to reassort (i.e. swap genes) ( Read more... )
