...and nothing can be done to take away what happened last night.  This country is forever changed, and for the better.

I have a feeling that in the months ahead, people's underlying racism will be brought to the surface.  I don't know how many times I've heard a statement in the last couple of months prefaced with, "I'm not racist, but...."  ( Read more... )

Women are still considered second class citizens in almost every country. I would like to see a female candidate be taken seriously and her looks and fashion choices not be the center of the controversy. Or what it will feel like for men to have to watch a woman age in the public eye. WTF. I'm not sure if men can handle a woman leader. Racism is the least of my worries. Sexism is forever strong.

hey!!! I'm not American, but i have to say that I and so many people around the world are really happy that USA people has taken the right choice. I think good things could happend from now.

Fully agree with your opinion about the common "i'm not a racist but..." In Spain is the same sentences: "Yo no soy racista, pero..." and then you know it will follow a big racist sentence... It sucks.
