Fifteen… Fourteen…

The clock is ticking and the countdown is on. Another new year full of fresh promise and endless opportunities lays before us. We are about to begin the first pages of a brand new book, with the power to pen each chapter for ourselves.

What a drastic left turn into the dark! I really enjoyed the countdown device, and the relatable content, lulling you into that twisted plot.

I was actually pulling for you to be able to make the changes you were looking for this year, until I got to the point where I suspected this was only going to have a happy ending for one of these characters... glad at least it's fiction. I like the style, the essayist form, and you actually had me going there until about halfway through, but I like it either way.

this did not go where i expected it to! but also i was assuming it was non-fiction.... the perils of reading first person pov. i really liked it! it progresses so smoothly - narrator goes from abusive family to abusive partner, this year they're going to leave the sob, good for them - and then hey, murder! excellent. :D
