We’ll I’ve decided to resurrect my old Live Journal for a good cause. I’m going to use it to document my journey with bariatric surgery. I’d like to start with some reasons behind why I’m going in this direction. I’m certain that this is nothing new for people considering this path, but if I’m going to document my journey, I need to start with the ( Read more... )

B - I've known you for what seems like a million years some days. I've watched as you've struggled with your weight and fought back again and again. I've admired the dignity and sense of humor you have held onto while dealing with the mounting limitations as you've become heavier.

I want you to know I am proud of you for taking this step and fighting to be healthier, happier person. I'm with you every step of the way. And whatever you need, whenever you need it, I am there for you.

Just so long as I am the one who gets to take you shopping when the new you hits the mall!

Two of my hubby's aunts have had lap band procedures which were wildly successful for them. I wish my mom would get this type of surgery, because she badly needs it, too.

I've also been dealing with joint pain, and exercise (I do yoga and water aerobics) is one of the best things you can do for it. So if weight is a bar for exercise, you definitely want to deal with that.

Good luck, and I hope you can get your procedure done with a minimum of pain and stress!

Good luck. I've been working on getting my weight under control, with mixed results.

Thanks to all of you for being so supportive. I, as you might imagine, rather nervous about this decision. But I know it is the right thing to do. It had made such a difference in the life of my sister (who had it done about 5-6 years ago). And I want to be able to reap those same positive rewards.

Hey, it's great to see you over here (I think I've gotten out of touch with Dallas people since I stopped going to the board (whose title I'm now blanking out on).

::hugs:: Good luck with this! I hope the results you get are as wonderful as you hope they will be!
