To celebrate me getting that BLASTED bit of dust off of my camera, I thought I'd share the pictures.

I don't know if I can properly show just how happy I am but I spent about an hour last night cleaning ALL MY lenses (read: the 18-55 mm and the 55-200 mm) so that it would just go away only to discover that it wasn't a bit of dust on the lenses but ( Read more... )

Ahh, I love your pictures. The first one is splendid. And the last one makes me want to do my homework outside. But it's nighttime now, alas.

That is such an awesome idea for your French project!

Thank you! Yeah and now it's cold so that's just wonderful.

Thanks! Let's hope the execution is awesome too!

I love these pictures, especially the first one and the black-and-white one of the watch.

Good thing you found out what it was AND could fix it. Finding out what is wrong and not being able to fix it would be terrible!

Thanks! I'm really fond of the first one as well!

I was worried I might have to send it in to get it fixed and was not particularly excited about that.

oh my god, Eva, you giant dork. You freak out about dust on the camera body?

You don't even have to worry about mold! Or rust! WHICH I DO
speaking of, I should get around to buying a film scanner soon. whooops

BUT SERIOUSLY. Nikons can take a beating. Trust me.

SOURCE; 3 WEEKS OF TAKING THE D60, UNCASED, TO AN ARCHAEOLOGICAL DIG. WITH DIRT.
ALSO TAKING IT HIKING MANY TIMES, UNCASED, letting it bang off of trees and dropping it numerous times on hardwood surfaces. I CAN HEAR YOU CRINGING, BUT IT'S STILL PERFECT.

(also that pocket watch is looking awesomely time-lordy lately. 8D)

I hope you know that by camera body that I mean the INSIDE of it. Like when you're switching lenses. INSIDE THERE.

Well if everyone was as OCD about their camera as I was, you wouldn't have to worry about MOLD OR RUST. Yeah?

Well maybe I don't want it to take a beating! I rather like it all shiny and lovely and un-abused. IT MAKES ME WORRY LESS. IT'S MY BABY, MILO. MY BABY.

(right? I was called "rude and ginger" yesterday by my adoptive roommates. They also watch Doctor Who. It was awesome).

Well generally by CAMERA BODY people mean "the part of the camera that is not the lens' SO THERE, OKAY

hahaha well, old cameras kind of develop it after being left in a room for a while, it's just something that happens. They have weird...fiddly parts that catch things! D:

OKAY, OKAY *HANDS UP*
I GET IT. I don't think I would want anything to happen to my Pentax. D:

(RUDE AND GINGER. OMG. <3 I LOVE THESE ADOPTIVE ROOMMATES, you should keep them.)

OKAY. OKAY. But yeah, I wasn't freaking out about getting dirt on my camera but rather it being IN IT.

Ahhh I see. I see!

*nods* I AM GLAD WE HAVE COME TO AN UNDERSTANDING. We both don't want something to happen to our respective children.

(RIGHT? RIGHT? We're watching The Girl in the Fireplace right now. I am definitely keeping them! We're living together next year!)
