HAPPYFEST IV

Yup, this is it, folks, the complete list of prompts for this year's Happyfest. The main difference this year is that we're open for art works as well as fic. Otherwise, the rules remain the same, the first of which is:

READ THE RULES BEFORE WRITING!

(there are notes about spoilers that I NEED you to read)

The rest are under here )

This went over the comment limit for two comments, and it stubbornly refused to break logically into three sections, so here are an excerpt and a link.

"Look at them, when was the last time you saw a thirty-foot lizard?"

"On Lelex, when you left me near the stockyards while you bargained for a useless gizmo."

"Ah yes. Lelex. Still haven't forgiven me?"

"Well, at least the stench washed out of my dress."

"Quite. All right, then we'll go." The Doctor heaved a sigh.

"I'm sorry, Doctor, really. But the first time I met you, I saw an alien and a living, flying vortex creature. These are just concrete models. And they're... well... a bit silly-looking, to be honest. I'm afraid my sense of wonder is failing."

Magnificent Seven; Soldier, Dancer, Mother; Ezra; PG morgynleri_fic August 22 2010, 22:34:52 UTC
Inspired by a prompt, and then the muse got a hold of it. Sorta a crossover with Highlander, if you count the fact that Ezra is Immortal in this.

Soldier, Dancer, MotherWhen he closes his eyes, he can remember each of them, from the first moment he saw them to the last ( ... )

Guy drifted awake to the awareness of an arm flung straight across his chest, a knee digging uncomfortably into his hip, and something jammed into his armpit. He shifted a little and Kyle snuffled in his sleep. The little puff of air tickled Guy's chest, which meant that was Kyle's head under his arm. Guy huffed a laugh, raspy with sleep ( ... )

*beams* Yay for brightening up your day! This is the goal of the HappyFest, after all, and I had a doubt or two about whether or not a PWP could be happy-making enough.

Thank you for the feedback!

That's a nice way to wake up, and Guy does have a nice ass.

"Look at that. Burn! Flip 'em, man. Flip 'em!"

"Nick! They're fine! Trust me, I can do this. Hey--"

"Okay okay." Nick took a step back.

"I can. I know what I'm doing. Nick--"

"I heard you the first time. I'm just saying, man. They look done to me."

"Nick!" The spatula quivered menacingly.

"All right, all right. I'll just be over here."

[The rest over here at pier56 because I went over the comment-limit. Sorry!]

Covert Affairs; Coffee and Camaraderie; Auggie and Annie; G donutsweeper August 24 2010, 01:17:30 UTC
Sometimes Annie forgot that Auggie was blind. Or, it would be more correct to say, she'd forget to think about it. It was just that he was so self-assured, so confident; he never acted like what she'd always assumed a blind person would be like. As a result, every once in a while she did one of those monumentally stupid things that people do when they're lost in their own world and fail to consider the consequences their actions might have on the people around her ( ... )

This is adorable! You have their voices nailed. I dated a blind guy for a while, and I totally get the headspace Annie was in. You stop thinking 'will this cause a problem' for a even a second and you can be sure it'll cause a problem - be it large or small, but it *will* cause a problem. (My rather oft-repeated issue was that I'd be fine to walk under tree branches, but my boyfriend was a few inches taller than me. Oops...)

I don't know what this show is, but I love your ficlet! It's very easy to see, both the action and the relationship between the characters. :)
