Home, sort of, Home

I really do like my little house. I know it's not that small, but it feels very cozy. We've been here long enough we've started to get routines. I can't say it quite feels like 'home' yet, but more than it did. I'm happy with where I ended up, though it amuses me greatly that after all that angst of attempting to find a house with a reasonable yard ( Read more... )

How close are you to Troutdale? The 1000 acre dog park/sandy delta is my favorite place in th world. Almost no other people depending on what day you go (we went during the week in the summer) and there's miles upon miles of trails. Not to mention it's really pretty, but that's coming from a Colorado kid who is used to everything being brown.

Not terribly close to me, but could definitely be some place to go check out! The no other people part would be a huge draw for me. And, hey, I'm from Colorado too!

It took me a while to adjust to the new house and feel like home. When we first moved and I thought about a shopping trip, I'd think of all the stores I used to go to in Oregon. At first it just felt like I was visiting for a while.

I talked a friend into getting a house with a smaller yard because of the very thing that you've discovered! I used to get asked how do you live with so many dogs in town!?!? You just have places to take them. She ended up with a tiny yard that works for pottying, but there is a park adjoining her tiny yard. Access to grass and a play place without all the work! Perfect!

I got Noodle because Border Collies without a terrier or something similar are kinda boring. Noodle makes things happen while Border Collies skulk around waiting for someone or something to get the party started. At least that's how mine are.

Have fun finding new areas to explore with your dogs!
