This is absolutely incredible. Gritty detail and a perfect balance of horror and a cautious bid for the future in spite of the ending of the world. It's like you built up a picture of what hope is for each of the characters and then endangered it over and over again, which really made me feel like there was a lot at stake. I love the apple orchard.
You totes set the landspeed record for first commenters. There are going to be NOTES that sing your praises, but I think they're happening after I sleep. Thank you thank you thank you for everything, you cruel taskmistress.
I want to, like, run around this fic and point at it crazily and shout, "LOOK! PLOT! And lookatthis pretty, descriptive line I found! And PLOT! And HORROR--THE HORROR. And JESS, who was MAGNIFICENT! And EVERYTHING!"
Because it had all of that. And it had all of that in spades. And it had all of that really, really, REAAAAAAAAAALLY well-done. I feel like I've discovered a gemstone mine or something. Everything about this was incredible and absolutely a joy to read. Excellent, excellent work.
Thank you so much! I'm glad the horror was a pro rather than a con - I didn't realize how heavily the fic would skew that way till I was all the way in it! I really enjoy your Sam/Dean, by the way, great stuff.
