When I think about reading a story, I think about all of the ways it could interest me. I think about how it may relate to things going on around me, how it relates to me, how it relates to topics that I may be interested in and so on. I have to read and reread a lot of school assignments, especially when it's a subject I'm not exactly stellar in (like science). For me, I learn by repetition.

That is a good idea. To relate what you are reading to what is going on around you or what you are interested in before you start reading. I think that would help me and maybe even make me realize that I am interested in the reading more than I initially thought.

Wow you are pretty dedicated when it comes to finding explanations for things you don't understand haha. I normally give up after some minor searching, which I know can't be good in the long run

I commend you on spending so much effort into your readings. Usually if I don't understand something I will look it up and if I don't find the answer I will just move on in the book in hopes of a better understanding.
