Benny and I bought a non-refundable vacation to Aruba through one of his co-workers who happened to have a time-share that he hasn't used since he divorced his wife three years ago. I'd go, but Max is coming soon! 3 weeks until the due date!
We have to get together! And since we know NOBODY in NYC maybe you'll be among the first to meet the baby??

We definately need to get together again soon. And we can't wait to meet little Max. T will have to call us so we can visit you guys at the hospital when he's born!

I'm confused, who said it's a conflict of interest? Someone has taken your money without explaining something better, I hardly see why you should be punished or be the ones looking for a replacement for you. Conflict, smonflict! That's 600 dollars!

He works for the city, and they have really really strict rules about making sure everything is transparent. The city's compliance officer told him he couldn't go.

Because he bought this from his friend, who was consulting for the city, who he ultimately hired on a full time basis... we really should have thought about the implications before we paid.

Oh well. At least we're in a financial situation that it's not devastating.
