No more cleaning out ashtrays. I am so happy about this ban.
Hopefully it will reduce smoking related illness, not sure whether the litter issue will be resolved coz i'm not sure how well it will be enforced.
However, taxes may well go up. How much money do the government make off smokers?
Also slightly woried about chavs,. I get such grief for trying to get them out of no smoking areas, let alone stop some of the wankers smoking completely :/
It is going to really improve your work place, this I am glad about too :) At least if any one does give you grief you have more legal recourse now.
The tax thing- that always got me riled when I did smoke cause when people gave me grief for smoking they would invariably bring up how much I was costing the national health service with my evil ways. (needless to say I haven't had one smoking related illness ever- touch wood.) I always thought the revenue from smokers kinda balanced it all out. I am gonna be miffed if taxes go up. I just think they will find something else to tax. Probably sugar or fat! :)
I'd heard of people going into restraunts and very purposfully having as many fag breaks in their meal as possible- thus wrecking the non smokers meals etc around them. Purposfully being anti social while they could get away with it- I should have made this clear in the original post. It's not a real organised protest- just wankers being wankers.
The private club thing I would see no probs with either- In fact I can see echoes of prohibition speak easys popping up about the place! :)

However I was under the impression the late protest (legal challenge) was a challenge to allow private clubs to operate as the wanted.
Which sounds quite reasonable since they are not forcing anyone to go to them or to work in them. Nor are they open to the public.
Have I missed something here???? Is there another protest?

*nods* There is a pub trying to get declared as the embassy for a random tiny island state....
That would make it immune apparently...
Hmmmm Its a shame they didnt really ban it.... then I could have supplied moonshine tobacco and had a tommy gun.
