Unfortunately everyone I know is going on deployment with me.
Its not really that great an offer when you figure that whoever came down would have to find a job or something for the day to day stuff like buying food or whatever they wanted to do. 9 months is a long time, and I don't know anyone who can take 9 months off of their normal life to hang out in San Diego.
Sort of bordering on 'not really'. I'll have access to email periodically, but I wont always be able to check it. When I can its on the slowest connection speed possible sub-28k.
When (if) we hit port, which the boat I'm going to is notorious for skipping, I'm sure whatever hotel I drunkenly stumble into will have internet.
Port stops are at the discretion of the skipper of the boat. The boat I'm going to be doing my float with is one of the 'go to' boats for handling shit. Remember those Somali pirates that got sniped by Navy Seals? They did that off the back of the Boxer.
So you can pretty much bet that if anything happens next year I'll be close by. :P
