Life in some ways can be considered a game.

Each player doesn't have the same starting pieces, the pieces have different powers depending on the player, they have different end goals, the rules vary by variables that they don't necessarily know in advance or after the fact.

It sometimes makes me wonder if "Go Fish" wouldn't be better.

Fluxx reminds me of a card/board game called Alien Encounter - there were basic rules, and you played an alien race that each had ways of changing the rules. Some of the cards had lite versions of the powers as well.

You can't lose Calvinball - you just need to get to the tree in the front yard hopping on one foot so that you can can throw the croquet ball through the tire swing.

Life is just a LARP.

And you know what you call people who play LARPs?

"Dorks".

Wait.
