I'm used to loosely-typed languages. Want to convert a string into a number? Just assume it is one. In Mumps you just use the unary operator + to force a string to convert to a number - the system assumes integer unless there's a decimal point or an "E" (for exponent). Well - actually it creates a new string and uses that internally, but whatever

Each player doesn't have the same starting pieces, the pieces have different powers depending on the player, they have different end goals, the rules vary by variables that they don't necessarily know in advance or after the fact.
It sometimes makes me wonder if "Go Fish" wouldn't be better.
Well, we're off the forced feedings for a little bit at least. We're letting Greyson eat ad lib, and giving him a appetite stimulant even though he'll graze quite a bit. So far he's doing OK. The only side effect is to make him more vocal (as if he wasn't already

We used to have an air popper for popcorn. It died a dusty death a while ago, and we've been using microwave popcorn since then. It works, but I didn't have it all that often. Something about the oil or flavoring just was off to me

Lovely. I stubbed that toe again, and cracked the nail, deep. As in, behind the margin of where you'd cut it normally. I'm seeing the podiatrist tomorrow already, so I'm wrapping the thing up so he can tease me PRN
