This is really prettily written. You've got some great imagery going on here and it does feel really true to the characters. You also make some nice points about Barney's side of the whole "mourning period" thing.

However, I'd advise you to get a beta to give your story the once-over and correct typos etc.

Second of all, I do have a beta reader who seemed to have forgotten about my little fic...XD

And I do feel that the show needs to show some more insight to the characters...
