Parking in Carroll Gardens

Dec 11, 2010 09:06

A friend of mine is driving in from out of town for a few days and looking for a parking garage around Carroll Gardens/Cobble Hill/Park Slope or even downtown Bk if there is anything cheaper there. Is there anything that you guys can suggest? Googling came up with a couple of places, but it's always better to have a personal suggestion :)

Does your friend necessarily want an enclosed parking garage?

About the Carroll Gardens area, there are--or at least were a few years ago--one or two fenced parking lots under the elevated subway tracks after they shoot up above ground, soon after the Carroll Ave. stop and before reaching the 9th Street stop. I recall, perhaps incorrectly, that they rent spaces on only a monthly basis, though. Access to it, or them was from Smith Street.

When I visited two years ago, I was able to find a few days of unticketed, on-street parking on Luquer Street, four blocks north of Ninth St. That lower area of Carroll Gardens isn't nearly as congested as further north, particularly between Court and Clinton.

Good luck!
