It’s the 12th of November and I am having a weird and poorly-planned day. Bits of it are excellent! There are clashes and odd changes of pace! At least it’s a bit less samey than the last few monthly diary days ( Read more... )

The breakfast martini sounds intriguing! I hope it's delicious.

It's really good! I have very bitter marmalade, so it needed a little orange syrup to balance. But delicious!

I hadn’t realised they’ve basically torn down that extension out the back of the downstairs flat! Wow! It would be lovely if they made it strong enough so you could have a roof garden on the top …..

Yep, it's horrendous. At least a couple more months of this, and then they will have to replaster my kitchen as it's all cracked from putting the steels in to support it. A lot of the roof is going to be glass...

Sounds like you got all the things done before your time off.

I know all about being in the middle of a loud renovation, mine is done now, I hope for you the result will be worth the current mess as well!

Ahw, the big Piccadilly Waterstones, I was there in October and as usual left with a bag full of books, haha. I won't be traveling again for a while, because the Netherlands is indeed going in another lock down at least until December.

I'm glad you still get to go to the theatre, I miss that.

I hope so! But I refuse to think about it while I'm away, so it will keep if not.

Renovation where you're not in control is the worst... ugh. Glad yours is over.

I saw your letdown about the Young Vic production - so bad if you're not getting to see theatre at all :-( It's by far my biggest covid risk, but I love it enough that it feels worth going, whereas other stuff like eating out I'm still avoiding. JST is so tiny it feels a bit less scary too, under 100 seats and very close to the action. So long as everyone else is taking appropriate precautions, at least.
