The world keeps on turning
I have missed more days than I realised. And I've no excuse really. This week has been relatively busy, but nothing unusual. It's been an odd week. Our annual conference has gone by in a haze of digital not-very-different, but I have successfully made it feel a bit less like a typical working week. Mostly by punting a load of meetings into next week tbh, but we shall cross that bridge etc ( Read more... ) -

I've had a quiet bank holiday weekend, slightly annoyingly as plans clashed and things didn't work out. But never mind, it was a good break. Hello again
It's been a fun few days. I've been to see friends in (gasp) north London, which was lovely. And I also went to the Proms for the first time in my unmusical life - not at the Albert Hall in this case, but at Cadogan Hall, which is a really interesting ex-church just off Sloane Square. I have managed to wreck today by becoming convinced late yesterday that I'd not done something critical (a while back, but implementing now), but not actually checking. Ferragosto and the year is turning
Oh man. I wish the feast of the Assumption of the Virgin didn't still loom in my mental calendar. There's no reason (Englishly speaking) to regard this as the start of autumn/back to school. We have weeks of August yet. But fifteen years of Italian holidays as a kid mean 15 August comes with a certain melancholy, and not even the bank holiday to ( Read more... ) -

I think I said back on June 12 that that might be my last covid-style post for monthly diary (July being a holiday). But nope. In justice to the improving situation, I should note that I was in the office on Tuesday, and will be again next Tuesday, and so some kind of commuter routine re-establishes itself. Normality continues to return. I've been to a wine tasting this week, and to a play. And a regular deadline has passed with us considering that site visits may-just-may be possible again in this round. Cautiously, but I've not done one since November, so that would be relevatory.
