Holy crap. Back in the States.

Greetings from Paris!

So, I'm finally settled in here... it only took a week...

Paris is absolutely amazing. I still can't really believe that I'm here-- that I can be walking down a street, and then, suddenly, there's the Eiffel Tower. Or Notre Dame. It's insane.

This weekend we went to Dordogne, an area in the country about 2 1/2 hours from Bordeaux. We had to get on the bus at freakin' 7:45 in the morning, but the sights were beautiful. We took a tour of this old, medieval castle, which was absolutely awesome-- from the drawbridge to the top of a tower/parapet thingy (sorry for my lack of castle ( Read more... )

I walked around Bordeaux today. It's very pretty-- old restored buildings and streets lit up with christmas lights (which i assume are only for the holidays? not sure ( Read more... )

So, here I am, in France, and what's the first thing I do when I get to my room? Check for wireless internet. but... score, apparently a neighbor across the street has wireless that I can access, and thus, here I am ( Read more... )

So, tonight, I fly to France. Still can't believe this is actually happening.

I'm hoping to use my lj to update you all with news from across the Atlantic, but I promise not to clog your friends pages with pictures.
