Prologue through Chapter OH GOD NO MORE
Chapters 5 through Chapter Whine
Chapter 9 through 13, or something like thatSo I fell victim to this thing known as THE HOLIDAYS.  It was a jolly holly one.  My daughter only asked Santa for one thing, which was an American Girl doll only one year, and 2016 it wasn't.  I'm magical mommy, and tracked the doll ( Read more... )

I've never been in a relationship, but it seems to me that if you're this worried about your boyfriend cheating on you, you might want to reevaluate your relationship.

Absolutely. Either the other person is doing something fishy to lead to the suspicions, of you've got trust-issues. At this point in the series, Logan has done literally nothing to make Mary Anne think he'd even look at another girl. Hell, at this point, he's done more to make us think he might be more interested in other boys. Yet she is convinced he's got to be cheating. She's so possessive! This behavior from Mary Anne is why I have a hard time being hard on Logan later when he starts to become something of an ass. Mary Anne would welcome his later behavior right now.

Wouldn't it make more sense for Jessi and Mal to make a horse snow sculpture, since that's a shared interest?

I think Jessi has confused racism with people feeling vaguely awkward around PoC after living in a predominantly white area. Growing up in a pasty white suburb I remember it was a slightly disconcerting perspective shift at one point in my childhood when it sank in that non-white people aren't just a thing from books and TV. It sounds stupid, but is kinda like how the death of a classmate can lead to mourning even from those who didn't know the person; it directly demonstrates that death exists outside of theory for more than grandparents and pets.

and yeah, this is why I'm convinced Jessi never becomes a professional dancer(though she probably still blames it on racism). She has moderate interest more than the passionate drive required to stick with it in the long run.

Theory: When the guy put on the I Love Lucy skit, only two people from all the schools outside the BSC had any idea what the hell he was doing.

Also theory: Jessi wasn't actually performing a solo, she was just doing her standard corps role, and since knowledge of ballet among the crowd was less than knowledge of I Love Lucy, no one noticed the difference.

Something I noticed on Saturday night when I was at the ballet (I volunteer) is that the one place with the most racial diversity in this area known for being white is at the ballet. Less than half the people I saw were white, and many were mixed-race families (family can be a couple in my opinion), black families, white families, Asian families, Muslim families, transgender people and their partners, etc. It's seriously beautiful to see the diversity there.

If you want to remain friends with those people, then you choose to overlook their faults.--Kristy's got some pretty big whoppers that a person shouldn't overlook imo. It's time to start looking closer instead of looking away if you're ever dealing with a person that you're afraid of. If they turn on you because they get a wild hair up their ass, it's time to look closer. There's quite a difference between "I get so grossed out by this person talking with their mouth full" versus "I'm scared of you ( ... )

Good lord no, that friend of mine doesn't reciprocate. If I bring up something that happened, like surgery I had a couple weeks ago, she's always too busy to talk, and nope, she hasn't followed up with me. Since it's not important to her, I haven't brought it up again. What's important to her is herself. I honestly don't know how her movie-star boyfriend puts up with her. I swear I'm so mad that I want to blow the lid on all that, but her boyfriend is nice guy who doesn't deserve the world to know he's poly when he's not comfortable with that ( ... )

I had a totally long and detailed response to this formulated in my head, but apparently I can be totally eloquent in my head, but once I'm actually in a position where I can write what I think, I can't do it. But anyway ( ... )

After hearing people lose their shit over dumb shit, you get desensitized.EXACTLY! And that's a huge part of the problem. When you hear stuff that isn't *ist called *ist all the time, the moment you hear something else called *ist, you just tune it out, which can be dangerous when something really is *ist. (I was called racist AND sexist for not liking Beyoncé's new album, and for thinking she's pretty overrated--she's a fine singer, but I don't think she's the greatest thing ever deserving of being called America's literal queen. It doesn't matter that my favorite bands are black Motown bands, and that I nearly hyperventilated with Wanye Morris gave me a rose in 2015. I'm still racist for not specifically being a fan of Beyoncé ( ... )

You are absolutely right that Mary Anne's behavior wouldn't fly if she were a guy. I just think Mary Anne is the type of girlfriend who constantly thinks her boyfriend is cheating on her. She probably goes through his phone and social media and deletes all females. She's probably the type of girlfriend to forbid him to even acknowledge a female other than her ( ... )

The first time I saw people kissing was when I was in jr. high. I saw my crush kissing someone else. :(. I was simultaneously fascinated and heart-broken. I think Mal being interested in seeing kissing is adorable ( ... )
