So I'm going to assume nothing is happening unless I hear otherwise.
Pity ... still it seems there isn't a great desire from within the BtD team to actually do it at worldcon, and it will save a lot of weekends and travelling and fuss at the worldcon ... so maybe it's for the best?
Perhaps we should be thinking about other things to do at Worldcon instead ...

I disagree. When fleetfootmike, demoneyes and I discussed the proposal at Halswaycon, we were all keen to go ahead, but we could not do anything definite until we had an OK from the Worldcon committee. As far as I'm concerned, we've been waiting for that OK from the Worldcon committee since it was announced that London had won the bid.
This is an "If you build it, they will come" question. We're totally happy to add it to the program and secure the space as soon as there is evidence that it is going to happen. The ball is in the court of the BTD people, be that you or Mike.
Also let it be said that the head of programming is quite excited about the idea of a filk-rock-opera (we've tried to trim back his definitions but this one has stuck...).
We have put tentative dibs on a space for the majority of filk to happen but have an agreement that things that might be larger can be done elsewhere in the space. We're also planning on taking musical instruments including at least part of a drum kit to the next meeting on site to test out their theories about the level of sound proofing in rooms with movable walls...
So do I take it that fleetfootmike did his presentation to the appropriate people?
Do we have a budget, or do you need us to submit a budget proposal as part of the evidence that it will actually happen?
When do you need a timetable from us? I'm thinking, for example, in terms of formal rehearsals starting after 2emi6reve, following any necessary auditions at the filkcon. But the rehearsals will have been planned well before then, with a clear timetable of when we're rehearsing what.
We have had no presentation from Mike that I am aware of.
I would suggest opening up an e-mail discussion with Anna and myself as she is in charge of filk programming and can make more solid statements regarding what is needed and by when, but I think we will need something more definite than waiting until Semibreve.
Our next programming meeting is in October and we would need to have some certainty of it happening by then, plus a better understanding of how big it will be so we know what to ask for in terms of performance space/duration etc. Anna will doubtless have more things that she knows she would need.

... I'm perfectly happy to do it ... but you're right, we need to find out what the situation is!
