Sad.... :(

Did you check him out for anything medical, like a tumor? Sometimes physical ailments will make animals meaner, just because they're in pain all the time. Could be he's just changed, but then again it might be something treatable.

I think this is true too. How old is he, B?

He's a year and a half old, he'll be two around Halloween. He's never had a health problem, and the last time he got a full checkup (when he got fixed), he was totally fine.

Hmmm. He's part weiner dog, right? My parents have had nothing but weiner dogs for the past 30 years. My current dog couldn't be nicer, but my previous dog was kind of weird. She was nice to us, but we used to play kinda rough with her, not abuse her or anything, just piss her off real good because we knew how easy it was and for some reason we thought it was really funny to see this tiny little dog get furious. She'd retaliate by having the meanest faces I've ever seen on a dog and growl and bark like she wanted to kill us. She never bit any of us but she bit my uncle twice (we made a joke that it's because he was a mailman and she must've known but still). I think she just got fed up with her size or something. She probably felt threatened because we could control her and I don't think she liked that. Maybe him attacking you because you took away his toy has something to do with his size. He's feist by nature.

I am so sorry, B. I can't imagine how painful that must be. I hope that you find out what's wrong and can return your Koji to you.

that is upsetting. this might sound totally off-base, but maybe his foster family was training him to fight or something like that?

A dog is a dog. Barking back at'm a few times and a good bop on the nose might be all he needs to be set straight.

I'm sorry Brandon. :/ That's rough. But you did the unselfish thing, which is to make your buddy happy.
