Not really.   I wonder where a lot of you are. And I wonder how it is that people who once told me how much I meant to them could just kind of....lose interest.  Maybe they didn't. Maybe it's my fault. I disappear. I stop talking. I'm just gone. Then I'm back. I know that kind of thing is hard to take after a while. And of course it's always all ( Read more... )

I don't know if what I'm doing could be called either a garden or therapeutic..or fun! I seem to be the default lawn guy in my house. It's a double, me on one side, other people...with dogs...on the other side. It was a jungle out there and I started working on it and now I'm committed....or should be =P

I think I've found the actual ground though.

So do you grow stuff you eat, stuff you look at, or stuff you dont talk about? ;)

i'm new to this whole alberta thing, so im seeing what will grow.

ive got begonias, impatiens, some coneflower perennial i can't remember the name of at the moment but they use it for cold remedies, AND I AM ATTEMPTING TO GROW pumpkin, squash, and cucumber.

this is gonna be awesome, do you want a pumpkin in october? :P

I had an idea about trying to grow pumpkin, too. I missed it in the fall last year, because we really dont have fall. I'd be too sad if my pumpkins failed to grow though haha. :)

I have a big ugly fence so i put in stuff that will climb. Morning glories, moonflowers, bouganvillea....i cant tell if they're coming up or if it's weeds though.

what about clematis? :D i love clematis. oh i also remembered that plant's name.

Echinacea purpurea. they use it for cold remedies... lol

im a nerd.

now i just need some PICS of your garden... :D i dont know how well pumpkin would grow in La. though... without Fall... but you could always try!

now i just need some cow manure or sheep manure or something of the sort for a natural fertilizer so i won't eat miracle gro laced pumpkin/Squash/ cucumber later this summer.

ah the joys of gardening.

I THINK pumpkin will grow. Does it have to get cold for them? We have fall but it's a lot warmer than fall up north. I have to take some pics of my empty garden so that when things start to grow I can see that I actually did something. I've always done this digging around in the dirt thing. Even when I was at my craziest it was my best therapy. I even tried to grow things in the little foot wide strip of dirt behind my garage. I actually had some pretty reasonable hot peppers come up back there, no lie!

I think tomorrow I will go take some "before" photos.
