That boxing glove should really be aimed out rather than in, but you get the idea.

My dad and stepmom are visiting from Texas, and they literally can not wait for the baby to come. They've also been taking me to spend time with my grandma and other family members who are similarly impatient. They say they want the baby to be born "for my sake", but ( Read more... )

EEK! That sounds wholly uncomfortable and stressful. :\ I'm sorry everyone is driving you a bit batty these days, but I guess it's good that they are all so excited and there for you and the baby. ;) In hindsight I'm sure you'll be thankful. :)

As far as suggestions, I have heard there is one with macaroni and cheese and A-1 or something, and like the daddy of the baby has to prepare it for you to eat. Not sure the exact deal, but it might be online.

Looks like you've tried everything else I've heard of. I think orange juice is another one, too.

Good luck!!! :)

Thank you! All better now. I have a sweet baby girl in my arms, and I brought her into the world all on my own. Well, with lots of support but without medical intervention. Maybe my venting did the trick. ;)

Raspberry leaf tea--drinking several cups a day. It kickstarted contractions with me but unfortunately not productive ones :\

I've also had moms tell me doing squats with the birthing/balance ball got things rolling.

Thanks for the tips! I did practice squatting too, to prepare for pushing later. It did seem to help get my body "in the mood". I had the same issue with being able to produce contractions but nothing happening otherwise. Thankfully, all of this is past tense -- my water broke and the rest took care of itself. I'll be posting pics soon, I promise.

Congratulations! I'll bet your little girl is absolutely adorable :D If you email me at nonnierms@yahoo.com and give me your current address (I have an old one :p), I have a present for her :)

PS--I am a bad bad friend--I can always remember your RL first name but never the last :p Can you give me that, too?

*squee* I love babies :D

Ideas for ... helping the wee one make its way out? Um, raspberry jelly? Eaten I mean, not applied LOL.

Ideas for ... getting your zone on and everyone else to shut up? Drip ketchup down your neck on either side, under your ears, and say, "OMG SHUT UP YOU'RE MAKING MY EARS BLEED!"

LOL! Love the topical-application-of-food theme. I totally should have tried both or all three of those things. Just for fun. It's all good, though. I have my little girl!! All natural.

Growing up we had a neighbor lady who swore the best way to hurry things along was the mow the yard...with the push mower. But really that seems far too much work. Wishing you a happy healthy delivery!
