Okay my final essay of this class is a five page essay on how sex-ed classes need to consist of teaching abstinence as well as prevention (condom use, birth control, etc.) of pregnancy and STDs... instead of saying "abstinence is the only choice. If you have sex, you will get pregnant and then die ( Read more... )

Opposing. ONLY because goddamned parents should be the fucking ones who tell their kids about sex. I dont think that I learned anything of value from my sex ed class, which was taught by my Gym teacher. I mean, pathetic. This guy looked like he couldnt even get laid, much less should be teaching me about sex. I am against it in public schools, because it gives parents one less reason to not fulfill their duties.

Parents sherk their duties enough as it is. It their son gets someone pregnant and he is 15, then maybe they will realize that they were not good parents in the first place.

The schools are for teaching the foundation on which we will get a job ... Schools need to get back to what they were supposed to do. TEACH. Parents now how it easier because of shit like that.
I want to know that I am telling my son / daughter about the facts of life and not some sweaty old dude who looks at other dudes asses in the showers after the game.

the only reason i don't like what you're saying is because if you ask parents about different kinds of STD's, what they look like, and how you contract them, or if you can get rid of it... Most won't know. This is medical text. and that's the reason's school should teach it.

Still, youre looking at something that has nothing to do with why we are supposed to be in school. 4 r's ya know? Try educating the parents, let them do their job ( ... )

im with you on this one. i believe danielle and i have talked about it before, as well.

i think abstinence is the best way to avoid unwanted pregnancies and STDs. but im also not an optimist. you tell a kid to not do something they will do it anyway to see what the big deal is. and some kids just dont understand what is out there and go in head first and get a big surprise. i think kids should be told what to expect.
