Experiments week of January 17-24

Instead of new years' resolutions, I am conducting experiments this year.

Currently, I have three experiments underway.

  • Find out what happens to my well being when I keep my blood sugar spikes down and walk 20 minutes a day -- all other exercise and diet restrictions are optional, but I lay of the refined flour and sugar absolutely.

Woo experiments! Good luck!

I'm not sure only 2 weeks of diet change will be sufficient. Better do it for a month or two... ;)

The lack of refined flour would kill me-it is one of the few things left that I can digest.

The pattern in my blood sugar kicked in in the first day. The impact on weight loss (which I'm not interested in yet, despite being 30 pounds overweight) and other biochemistry (sugar is terrible for skin inflammation, and that takes longer to cure), but I"ll have a pretty good idea about what smoother blood sugar feels like after a shorter time. ALl of these can be renewed, and--if there's reason to believe an experiment is working -- I certainly will.

If I remember right, you can't digest gluten; isn't that in white flour? It would seem to me you would have to use another grain.

And thanks for the good wishes.

Sounds like you know what you are doing. :) good luck!

With me, it isn't the gluten-turns out to be anything that takes energy to digest.

This means whole grains and raw vegetables are pretty much out.
So is anything high in fat. Mexican food and I are not friends.
