I hate posts like these, but in case you don’t obsessively check to see who’s friended or defriended you today… I’ve done a small friends cut ( Read more... )

The post isn't filtered or locked. I'm lj-stupid. So I don't know a way to selectively let people no longer on my flist see a message for them.

You made the cut :-) And I <3 the icon. No, not spammy at all.

It would be pretty hypocritical of me to cut anyone for not having been online much lately :-P

I definitely understand that being a student means that there’s some periodicity in posting and commenting. Y’know, droughts during exams or when papers are due; floods when there’s a break. Or at least that's how it's been going with me. I’m amazed that so many people manage to stay active on lj on a near daily basis.

I had a brief freak out moment, and I was all like, "Nooo. I'm sorry I haven't been online"
Lol. That’s usually my reaction, silly mood or no :-P

I’m pants at lj, so if there’s a way to selectively target the people that this message is intended for once I’ve already de-friended them… Well, I don’t know it. hry2007 asked the same thing.

"Does that mean I made the cut, or am I just slow?"
Not slow, but definitely silly. I'm more afraid that you'll wake up one day and realize that my lj is incredibly boring and that I only make the most tangential of comments (marshmallow Peeps and Hitler, wtf?) waaaaaaaay after you post.

I’ll drink to being open and sharing real thoughts buffbanded May 8 2007, 02:34:26 UTC
People can write more for themselves than others, the way you would in a regular paper journal. To reflect on things, organize your thoughts, chronicle life. Sometimes it’s useful for those reasons, but for me, lj mainly fills a social niche that’s missing from RL. I don’t want to write messages in a bottle, indifferent to whether it’s received or knowing what someone else thinks about it. I like knowing that someone’s actually reading this crap, even if they aren’t commenting.

I can’t remember if you like Interpol, but I’ve got their song NYC in my head. I wish I weren't on my parents' audio-neutered computer so I could upload this, just in case.
    I had seven faces
Thought I new which one to wear
But I'm sick of spending these lonely nights
    Training myself not to care
It’s hard not to wear a mask whenever you’re interacting with another person. So what you said here means a lot to me - about appreciating honesty, analysis. Especially the latter. My penchant for thinking about stuff, getting stuck, and then turning it over to lj ( ... )
