Out of fairness, circus animals are also being paid to stand in front of people and be smart. And they're better at it than many temporary faculty I've seen (not you, of course, you're far smarter than a sea lion).

This is an important point. It could be that circus animals and adjunct teachers have been unfairly segregated--just because people assume that it's two separate specialties, without really thinking it through.
