Religion and kids don't mix. That's right, I said it, who wants some?

I've been inspired to actually write something of substance in here today because of a dear friend of mine, the lovely titaniablue. See her most recent posts for the full details on the story I'm going to mention here ( Read more... )

This is a common problem that comes up when one parent is of one religion, and the other is different. One of my ex-BFs has a little girl, and he is pagan, but the mom is christian. HOW they got together, I do not know. But he has the same problem, he was teaching her little chldren's magics and stuff like that, and the mom was SO outraged... and yet he would get angry when the mom took the kid to church. I don't get it, i just dont.

and one thing i've noticed with people who refuse to take their children around other religions so as not to "influence" them away from christianity is that the parents are also usually not even bothering to teach that religion to their children in the first place. it's like the "if you don't vote you can't bitch" rule. it's called insecurity, folks. get yourselves over it ( ... )
