The breast cancer lobby has thoroughly played the "Save the Boobies" angle. And sure, it helps that most people are in favor of breasts for aesthetic reasons at the very least, but these groups are also doing something pretty unusual for disease charities: They're trying to be funny.
Those folks made a practice of lightheartedness -- dude, I know a 40-year-old high school teacher whose hair is still pink a week after the BC 3-Day -- but I think it could work for other groups as well. Seriously, I think NUTS would be well-received if it were presented in a good-natured way.
At the very least, I doubt anyone would have the... uh .. nerve ... to really lambaste such a group.
The prostate people, though? They might have trouble.
