Just got back from the IKEA-Montour Trail 1/2 Marathon. It was a really good race-- perfect weather, flat course, good crowd (about 600 runners I heard someone say). My time was 2:15 and some seconds. They started to post the official times on a wall but they only had the first 450 or so runners posted when I left, which left off at about 2:06, ( Read more... )

Today at our family Labor Day get-together my aunt asked me if I was following the Katrina coverage. "I can't pull myself away from it," I said. I am pleased to report that today I was able to run 6.7 miles. This is quite a relief for me since for a while I've been battling minor tendonitis in the foot, the heat & humidity (ugh, who hasn't), and general fatigue (probably more life- than running-related), which had set me back a bit in my training for the IKEA-Montour Trail Half MarathonSo ( Read more... )
