i went swimming in the molalla river today. corey and i decided that if the forcast predicted weather warmer than 85 degrees, i might have to call in sick and start my vacation time a day early. he drove us to an area of the river that took an hour to get to, and even though we saw a lot of cars parked along the road on the way, it felt like we ( Read more... )

corey and i attended a shins concert last night. i'd seen them once before and it was a very calm, shoegazer show. i enjoyed it. last night it was a way different show. it was the very last of their tour and portland is their hometown, they made it clear they'd been celebrating all evening. it was very raucous and rowdy. a lot of fun. we had one last weekend hoorah before the business of fall term began. we weren't able to leave town until about 3 in the afternoon, and we had to be back by three the next day... but it was worth it. we drove to bend to see the pixies (with the decemberists and death cab for cutie), then went out with my brother and his girlfriend for a few ( Read more... )
