At the top of the list of Things That Are Harshing My Squee is the amount of Arthur/Gwen hate that has exploded since the trailer was released. People, they're obviously going there, there's nothing you can do, so deal with it. I'm not absolutely thrilled either, but I hope that they do it well and that, even if they will never compare to my lovely ( Read more... )

I've had my share of ships that I hated, and I totally know the feeling of seeing a show go in a direction you're not looking forward to, but if anyone actually thought Merlin would remain ship neutral - or that Merlin/Arthur would ever be canon, than they're asking for too much.

Come on, Merlin fandom. We all saw how you shot down that Gwen basher a few weeks ago - YOU'RE BETTER THAN THIS.

That's all.

I'm spoiler free. xD
Just watched the trailer.

I don't think people are "angry" about the fact that they choose Arthur/Gwen over Arthur/Merlin. We've always known that it's something impossible from that point of view... which is why maybe we enjoy it so much. We enjoy the subtext and the amount of love that they show us. But of course is not that kind of love.. it's a family show, not Queer as Folks (wish it was by the way xD)
I think it is beacuse they've introduced the thing so quickly, that we hadn't time to recover from it... from realizing it.
I dunno in which ep it will happen, but I think between the first and second, since they show the Creepy guy of ep 1 and the jousting of ep 2.

It's just too early to feel... acceptable.
What about Morgana/Arthur...??? DELETED?

That's exactly it! I'm actually really excited to see how the Arthur/Gwen unfolds, but I just worry they're going to rush into it. :/ I love Gwen, but I really wanted more character development for her this series, and I think that's necessary before they go into the Arthur/Gwen.

Oh, no, you're absolutely right! Just- I think I'm still a little bitter from season one though, in which I felt the Arthur/Gwen of the last few episodes seemed sort of... tacked on? Idek. D:

I'm all for the angst it'll ensue in the Merlin/Arthur front. I'M SORREH, I LIKE ANGST IN MY PAIRINGS. And I fully believe they'll be longing~~ for each other behind it all, so. XD
