Tristian had decided to come outside to take a break and just think about everything. It had been a rough year, and he was still clinging desperately to the fact that this year would be a return to normal for them all. The only problem was, that he couldn't convice even himself of that. It was just so strange, not being able to knock on Professor Xavier's door when he wanted to chat about something. Xavier had been like a parent to him; to all of them, and now he was gone. It was a reality that Tristian was still struggling with

Tristian was right about that; Xavier was definitely like a parent to all of them. His presence was sorely missed, even Kase was feeling lost and subdued by the loss of Professor Xavier. But she didn't feel she had any right to complain or really talk about it. She wasn't one of the chosen few meant to become X-Men. Tristian's interest was piqued. "Oh, who might that? Honestly, though, Kas. I don't see how anyone can not like you." He smiled playfully at her, even though his mind was still so full of thoughts he thought he might explode. He wondered idely if Kas was diving into his thoughts yet, and if so, would she mention them

Kase couldn't help but overhear him thinking about her, and she was glad to know that Tristian so valued her friendship, and he was right that he'd always have her around. He'd be stuck with her forever if she had anything to say about it. She worked hard at prying about and finding just the right button to push to get through to him. It was something she was proud of, unlike her powers
