Honestly, Mei never meant to forget about her bunny at all. Between the playing with him and the snuggling, actually feeding him just somehow slipped her mind. Thankfully, Jacob had somehow assumed the roll as chef to the small animal. And Mei was thankful for it. Oh, wouldn't it have been a horrible day if she went to check on him and he was dead. And it had been her fault! That's just the sort of thing a girl like Mei would take ages to recover from ( ... )

Jacob had heard her coming up the stairs, and he had heard her approaching. But he was so focused on trying to find the lettuce that he kept at it even when she opened the door and entered her room. Really, why should he be surprised? It was her room, after all, and she had a right to be there. He was just happily relieved that it wasn't her roommate finding him in such a state ( ... )

Mei stood, rather politely, watching him for a moment. It was odd, the way he was digging through the drawers and she stood a bit awkwardly watching might have given off the impression that it was his room and not hers. Although ice would have been fine for his fingers, Jacob felt he needed it for his cheeks as they started to burn more when Mei took his hand and looked at his swollen fingers. It wasn't as if it was something unexpected; Mei always had a way of taking care of him. She was just that sweet. But the light smell of flowers in her hair and the closeness in proximity where she stood overwhelmed him slightly.

He pulled his hand away, slowly as to not make her feel that he was embarrassed and whatnot, and just shook his wrist. "No, that's all right. Don't worry about it. I'm fine." He gave a small smile. "Really. It doesn't hurt so much, and the pain's sorta gone." Of course, it burned a little and felt warm, but he didn't want to make her feel bad. Just shaking it would make it feel better and he didn't slam the drawer too hard.

"Oh..." he nodded, understanding. "Where did you move it to?" He glanced around. "We still need to feed Hector today." He gave a broader smile, and took a step back and towards Hector's cage.
